To everyone out there that has ever even thought about getting a Harley-Davidson:
You need to visit Gail's Harley-Davidson, right off US 71 Hwy and MO 150 hwy. This dealership is more than a motorcyle dealership; it's a place to go and have fun. Just like Gail says all the time in her advertising.
Even if you aren't sure about buying a Harley, just visit the dealership. See the fantastic array of chrome and steel! Talk to the staff because they are so laid back and ready to answer all questions. Most are riders themselves and their love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles shines through in everything they do at Gail's.
If you need to get the feel of a Harley, great! You can rent one from them but, the true experience is owning your own! Wow! When I open my garage door and two Harley's are sitting there, the folks walking up and down the sidewalk always comment and ask questions. I send them to Gail's.
The reason is simple; they make you feel like you are the only person on earth buying a bike. From the greeting as you walk in the door, through the sales process, and meeting representatives from each department of the dealership, they make sure that you know who to talk with to get all your questions answered about anything.
The service department is amazing! Gail's has more certified Master mechanics that any dealership we know of and the 1st class treatment we have always received always gives us that sense that everything is going to be just fine; and, it always is! Even when I bought my 1st Harley somewhere else, Gail's took care of my service for me without batting an eye and fixed the problem that wasn't fixed by the place I bought it from. Now, I wouldn't buy one from anywhere else.

In all honesty I didn't think I was going to get an opportunity, with Gail's, to buy a bike. Something that I have thought about for years. But being in my situation makes it pretty easy to get discouraged.

Dear Gail:
I’m so excited about my purchase of my 2007 Sportser Low on Tuesday, March 23rd. My husband and I have been encouraged from my husband’s best-friend to get involved with the Harley Davidson family. He has been riding for five years and thought it would be a great social network that we would both enjoy.
We decided to visit the Harley Davidson factory in Kansas City. Since we were in the neighborhood my husband “googled” HD dealerships found in the Kansas City. Of course, he knew I would love a female owner. I spent an hour on your website which made me feel like I knew you and the feel of the dealership. We decided to visit your location.
We are from St. Louis, Missouri and have visited dealerships in our area. I have attended two garage parties in a week. I was on a mission to find out if motorcycles were the right decision for us. Wow, I learned so much from both parties.
We were impressed walking into your dealership. We met by Michael Beard, he showed us the bikes we were interested in plus gave some suggestions for us. Michael was professional, knowledgeable and excited about Harley Davidson. We found the bike for me. I had no idea when I walked into your dealership that I would purchase bike. Oh, I haven’t mentioned I don’t know how to ride. We are signed up to take the Rider’s Edge course in St. Louis.
Everyone we meet was a joy to work with, Papa Smurf got me so excited joining the HOG family and now I want to join all the local chapters in St. Louis. This man loves his job!
Cody Ellis explained the catalog. I feel extremely comfortable looking up information and make decision on things to add to my bike. I enjoyed Cody’s suggestions and knowledge. He too loves what he does and it shows. Cody took us back to meet Cory Robinett even though we would be using a dealership in St. Louis for service.
Each employee we sat with made sure we could call them with any questions. Your employees made us feel excited about our purchase. When Michael had me sit on the bike for my picture all the employees and customers gathered around to clapped, cheered and honked horns. I felt like a Harley Princess! I have never experience so much joy from purchasing any object. The crowning touch was when you left me a voice mail saying thank you for my purchase.
The only thing that makes me sad is that I live 4 hours away otherwise I would attend every event you had at your dealership.

To everyone at Gail's Harley Davidson,
I have been in the vehicle sales business for 16 years in every capacity imaginable. I work at the largest GM dealership in North Dakata, South Dakota, and Minnesota. We are very successfull by GM's standards. However, our customer service pales in comparison to what I experienced on Saturday. I was very worried about traveling so far to buy something I had never seen in person. I took a leap of faith and called the 800 number on the posting on Ebay. A very polite gal by the name of Laura answered when I asked for sales. I asked her if I could buy the bike now instead of going through the ususal Ebay format. She said " sure, what would you like to buy it for?" I made her an offer. She said " let me check on it and I will call you right back". Wouldn't you know it, 10 minutes later she called back. They accepted my offer and I set the ball in motion to buy it. I then talked to Josh the finance manager and I have to admit I was a little arrogant with him because of all my 'experience' in the sales game. He was very pleasant and answered my questions professionally and when I told him the rate I could get here, he said that sounds really good and that he didn't know if he could beat it. In his defence, he didn't know me from Adam and it's hard to say that he could beat it without any information from me. I made arrangements at my credit union for the short term loan and called Laura back and said I would be there on Saturday to purchase it. I asked Laura if she or one of her coworkers would be able to come pick me up at the airport on that morning or if I should find a ride. Over and above my expectations, she called me back and said she would have someone there to pick me up. Wow, I landed in KC and there is a guy standing outside my gate with a sign that has my name printed on it. He said "Mr Pearson, I am here to take you to Gail's". He took me out to the Lincoln Town Car and Chauffered me to your dealership. OK so far a good experience. Then, we pull up to and Taj Mahal of Harley dealerships. The driver turned to me and said just sign here sir. I was expecting to pay for the ride, but Gail's covered it. WOW, the experience has gone from good to very good. I walked in the front door to find a couple of young ladies sitting at a reception desk and they said "you must be the gentleman from North Dakota". I don't know how they new that because I hadn't even spoken yet ( apparantly I have a North Dakota accent). I said I was looking for Laura and they said they would get her. Almost immediately she was there to greet me. I was so much in awe of what was going on that some of the details of the next few minutes may be a little fuzzy. I told her I was glad to be there and I was really worried about how I was going to ride home in the snow. She said no problem and and introduced me to Josh. I felt a little sheepish meeting Josh after the way I acted on the phone. He was nothing but a professional and greeted me like I was his long lost friend. We concluded the paperwork and in walks Gail. How nice, and I wondered does she come and meet everyone that buys a Harley from there or if I was special. I concluded I must have been special because I can't imagine her being able to stop in and talk to everyone with the volume of sales Gail's must do. So now the experience has gone from very good to great!!!!! Josh and I walked out of his office and there was Laura and Tom to tell me that they had arranged a driver to take me as far north as I needed to go. OMG. INCREDIBLE!!! They then introduced me to the delivery person. I appologize that my head was spinning so much that I don't remember his name. We went over everything on my HOG and some other guy wheeled it out of the showroom to the service department. But not until they embarrased me by announcing my name over the intercom and made me ring the bell. Love it. Once we got to the service department, I met Rondall. He said he was the guy who was going to take me as far as I needed to go. I have to admit I was thinking, all the way back to North Dakota? The next couple of hours or so seemed to go buy very quickly. Before you know it we were out of the snow. I then said to Rondall, "just find the next truck stop and I will take it from there". As I went to put all my cold weather gear on, Rondall unloaded my bike. As I finished gearing up, I noticed that he wasn't leaving. He actually waited for me to go by before he would leave. WOW! So now I don't have words to explain how over the top this experience was. My most sincere thanks to everyone I came in contact with that day. You have a customer and friend for life. Recently my wife Jackie Marsh won a Dyna Fat-Bob in a charity raffle; the charity asked where we wanted the machine delivered, and we selected Gail's, based on a previous experience we had with the service department.
I am a retired funeral director; that profession is based virtually 100% on service, and I've always been very sensitive to the quality of service recieved from those with whom I do business. Unfortunately, top-flight service has gone the way of the old "Service" stations where you not only got gas, you got the windshield cleaned, the oil checked, tire pressures verified -- you got SERVICE! It is so rare as to be remarkable to see that quality of service today.
What a wonderful surprise it was to pick up that motorcycle at Gail's and to discover that there are still a few isolated pockets where SERVICE remains the standard of the business!
Our first contact with Gail's was when my wife crashed her Sportster and we took it to Gail's for repair. Service Department's Cheryl Tiedman's treatment of us was a precursor of the "serivce attitude" found throughout the establishment. Her interest in our every problem, her straightforward answer to every question - even when it wasn't the answer we may have wanted to hear - her professionalism, attention to detail and general extremely high quality of service were all exemplary!
When we went to pick up the motorcycle a salesman mentioned the chairty raffle they were running, and my wife bought two tickets - and won the bike!
Gail's did not sell us the motorcycle, and earned not a penny from us in any way. The service they provided, however, was exactly the same we should have expected had we purchased the most expensive, tricked-out Harley ever manufactured! Every employee treated us as though we were the only customer Gail's had ever had. Brian from the Parts Department rides the same motorcycle my wife had won, and took a great deal of time to show us everything about the machine, demonstrating possible upgrades that he'd made on his own bike. He was a great help in assisting Jackie and myself in selecting the accessories we desired, and was most conscious of getting the "mostest of the bestest for the leastest", insuring that every dollar we did spend was given full value.
At every turn we were met with smiles, offers of assistance and above all, a FANTASTIC SERVICE ATTITUDE from every single person we met at Gail's.
When we're ready to go for the Ultra Classic you can bet the farm that we'll be at Gail's front door, where fantastic service by great people is the hallmark!

I bought my first Harley, an 883L Sportster, from a friend this summer – I’m a new rider. When I had an accident with it a few weeks later, I knew where I had to bring it. Even though new to motorcycles, I had heard positive things about Gail’s HD, so took my Sportster there for repairs. Every aspect of the repair was explained well to me, a real novice! Kudo’s to Cheryl! Then, I was surprised when my Sportster was ready for me just two weeks later. THAT was great.
While at Gail’s Sept. 1, I ordered a few things for my Sportster, and also bought a couple of raffle tickets for muscular dystrophy, with the grand prize being a new Harley. Twelve days later, they drew my name out of the hat, and I won a 2009 Harley Dyna Fat Bob! Before it was ready to pick up, we talked with Brian in parts about accessorizing the new bike. I got a new catalog, and in-depth explanation of how to use it, then a personal “tour” of Brian’s own Fat Bob to show us how he accessorized his. This was way above the call and duty of any parts person I have ever dealt with anywhere, and so much appreciated! Brian worked with me via email and over the phone to get my new items on order.
The bottom line is that you have a new, loyal customer! The people there are Gail’s are the BEST.

I just wanted to thank you and the team at the dealership for all the attention and care on the purchase of my new bike! But i had to do this ride due to my son being in the military and for all the 9/11 victims. I just wanted to tell you what a fantastic group of people you have working for you. I am usually one that hates buying something new from a dealer because by the time i have purchased something, I literally hate the salesman and the dealer. From the time I walked in the door at your place I felt at ease and comfortable dealing with my salesman. I am sure you have put your salespersons thru training to be that way but I must tell you that I couldnt have been given a better salesman. Allan Kayser is one of those people that are just a delight to be around. I dont know where or how you ran across him, but I think he is a valuable asset to you team. All of the people that I delt with were a great group of people. Allen, Brian in parts, Josh in financing, and we cant forget Roger, what a hoot. I think I could hang with all of these people. They all seemed to actually love there job, laughing and joking and having a good time (In a professional manner of coarse). I cant remember ever having so much fun spending $19,000. The day after I bought my Road King, I went on a four day trip. Unfortunatly I didnt have my full license yet so I had to take the mustang( that really hurt leaving the hunk of crome at home). We went thru Arkansas, Tennesee, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana. We stopped at every Harley store we ran across(guess I just had to at least look at a bike since i couldnt ride mine this trip). Not a store one compared with your selection or down to earth atmosphere. I am definately a lifetime customer as will be my girlfreind after she learns to ride. Better keep Allen around for a while thou, I think she likes him better than me! I think she had her eye on a sportster. Keep up the good work and i look forward to meeting the mastermind herself one of these days. We will definately be back in to visit our new found freinds.

Once again your staff has proved that your shop is all about CUSTOMER service.
I live 1.5 hours from your shop, I pass by the other two Harley dealers when I come to your shop. And the following example is why I don't mind the drive.
Because I live so far out in the country, I have gotten into the habit of calling first to iron out any potential problems with anything I need. I do this with every buisness I deal with.
So I called to see about the riders essential package for my bike, found out that this package was not in stock but that you would put one together. Also wanted the tall sissybar rather than the short one.
So I got to the shop and Jerry got everthing together and I was on my way. This was a Saturday.
Now this is where your staff (Jerry) really shined.
Got home and found that the sissybar was the short one.
As this was after closing time at your shop, I shot off an e-mail to Jerry and explained the situation.
Tuesday morning I got the call from Jerry in which he explained that he had put the tall bar in the mail, along with a return shipping label. Problem solved!!
I just wanted to write and let you know that because of you personally talking with me that day and the continued good CUSTOMER care I receive when I come in your shop, you will continue to get my buisness. And I will continue to be one of your most supportive customers everytime I'm asked where I do my shopping.

I just wanted to tell you that Gail is the best! This excerpt from her website tells it all:

I believe in a friendly business environment. If I enter any establishment, and detect unfriendly employees, I will contact the manager on duty and have some words with them. I am 51, and I am so tired of employees treating customers unfriendly and with indifference. Do they forget that without our dollars, they will not have a job?
Anyway, March, 2007 was when my wife and I entered Gails. We were former HD owners and wanted back on a bike. I heard Gail’s excellent marketing on the radio nad television. Heck, I live in Lansing, Kansas. Gail’s was probably one of the farthest dealerships from me. I knew after entering, that I would be spending my money with her. From the front door greeters, to the sales department (Willie is super along with Tom, etc.), to the finance manager, Activity Manager, Clothing and parts employees ( Go Levi !). They all exude the friendly fun demeanor Gail has. She truly leads by example.
In April, we left with a 2007 Road King and still love riding it. We do not get to Gails often due to the distance. But her place is an experience that all should partake in!!!!!! She is the greatest!!!

"I want to thank the shop mechanics who worked on my 2002 Ultra Classic. I have been trying to find out what was causing it to miss and run poorly when it was hot. It took them less then an hour to fix the problem and it cost less than I expeted. I also asked one of the parts sales persons if they knew if Harley Davidson was going to have their open house this year, the parts person was not sure so he called to find out for me. I feel Gails Harley Davidson staff went out of their way to help me with everything from service to parts, Gails HD even has the lowest prices on tires for my bike. I WILL be back. Thank you. Marty"

"I saw an ad on craigslist for a Buell Ulysses and spoke to Chris in sales who was really helpful and enthusiastic about getting me into the bike. Because of my location from Gail's, Chris was willing to work with me and my work schedule to finally come down and check out the bike. The girls at the front desk were able to fax loan douments that were time sensitive at no prior notice. We were talking with some friends recently who were considering purchasing a new bike, and so of course we told them about our experience with Gail's Harley Davidson. It then occured to me that I had not written to let you know how we were treated. So many times people will write in to complain to a business but never take the time to write if they have a great experience. I wanted to do so.
My husband was looking to purchase a 883 Iron and I had called and dealt with by phone and person with every Harley dealership in and near the Kansas City area. The experience varied wildly from dealership to dealership. After dealing with one in particular that left a negative "used car salesman" impression, Gail's was next on my list. The dealership didn't have what we were looking for but the person I spoke with told me that they would have one in a month, and would I like to come in and sit on an 883 Low that had a similar seating position. We came into the dealership and met Andy. What a great initial impression. He spoke with us and after talking to my husband for a bit suggested he sit on the Buell xb12scg. This was not the bike we had been thinking about, but when my husband swung a leg over the bike something clicked. It was THE bike he had been looking for without even knowing it. Andy was extraordinary in listening to what he was looking for and not looking for, and reading between the lines to match a bike to him. I was worried about pushy sales staff after dealing with other Harley dealerships and we did not experience anything like that at your dealership.
We decided to take the weekend and think about purchasing the Buell as it was such a radical departure from what we originally had in mind. We came back to purchase the bike but Andy was on vacation. We spoke with Alan and he was fantastic. We got a great deal on the bike and they even offered to deliver it to our home. By this time I was already highly impressed with how friendly and professional the staff was, but there was more to come that shocked me. Never before in a buying experience, be it auto or motorcycle, has my salesperson taken the time to introduce me to the head of each department. I have to say it "wowed" me. The Buell technician took alot of time explaining everything on the bike thoroughly to us and setting up the suspension specifically to fit my husband. I was very very impressed with everything at that point, but then as we had our picture taken with our new baby, you took the time to come out of your office and introduce yourself. I was stunned by this level of customer service. It was a buying experience that neither one of us will ever forget. We tell everyone we know who is looking at buying a bike about our experience.

"In 2006 I purchased an Ultra Classic Electra Glide from your showroom floor. I had some special accessories put on the bike and I have been very happy with the motorcycle and service I have received since my original purchase. Recently, I rode the motorcycle to Colorado and noticed a problem with the exhaust system. I brought the bike into your shop on Saturday and talked with several people about the problem and ultimately ended up dealing with Jerry from your Service Department. Jerry and your staff went above and beyond in seeing that the problem was fixed. It is very obvious that customer service is very high on your priority list when it comes to training your staff. "One of the best dealerships i have ever steped foot into. My quest for a new bike started in september of 09. I have always rode cafe style bikes and now that i'm getting older decided to go with a cruiser, but wanted something a little different. Never thought i would buy a harley but the dealership made all the differance. I checked out a few other dealers in town, I won't mention any names, but the experiance was not very impressive, being in sales myself i can say the experiance at the other dealerships was poor at best. It seemed as if they didn't really care if they sold me a bike or not. I came into Gails not knowing what to expect. I walked in and was greeted by "Andy". Andy didn't treat me like i was some guy just looking around, even though when i came in, i told him "i'm just looking" as we all do. he asked what i was looking for. i explained to him my situation and explained i'm in no hurry, and that i was just checking out prices. i didn't see anything on the floor that really caught my eye, so Andy took me upstairs, where there were a few hundred bikes and walked me thru every bike in the room. as we were heading out, out of the corner of my eye there was a new bike that caught my eye. A 2010 superglide custom, in black ice pearl. we stopped and talked about the bike for a few minutes. i sat on it, we started it up. I explained to Andy i wasn't really looking for a new bike. i was really looking for a used bike, because i didn't want to spend a lot of money. Andy understood and we talked a little more. i explained to Andy about the bike i was currently riding and told him what i needed to get out of it to make something happend on a new bike. Without even seeing a picture of it he said he will get me a bid, just on my honest word that my bike is everything i say it is. I found that very odd since every other dealer couldn't even give me a ballpark figure unless i brought them the bike first to do a complete evaluation of it. Andy said it would take a few minutes to get this number. I explained to him that i didnt want to keep him any longet than i had because odds are i wont buy anything right away. i told Andy to get the bid for my bike and call me with it and i would come see him the next day. Andy called me back in less than 30 minutes with the bid, which was more than i was asking. I told Andy i will come see him in the morning. The next day I walk into the dealership at 9am (opening time) and to my surprise the new bike was sitting on the show room floor all cleaned up and ready to go out the door. I explained to Andy that i wasnt prepared to buy the bike and again he agreed with me and said lets just sit and talk. he asked me what i was looking for in a bike. i told him the bike fit everything i needed in a bike, except a few things like forward controls and taller handle bars. he said no problem in 30 minutes he had everything priced out and put an offer in front of me. I was shocked. not only was i not ready to buy a bike but Andy picked up on all of my buying signs and put everything in front of me, exactly the deal i was looking for. At this point how do you pass it up. So needless to say I now own a 2010 superglide custom in black ice pearl, with forward contols and 16 inch ape hangers. it is the perfect bike. And i would have never bought it if i wasn't in this dealership with the right sales guy who understood and listened to what i said. The best experiance i have ever had buying a vehicle anywhere. Thanks Andy, and thank you Gail ! Its not the bike that sold me. It was the differance at the dealership !"

"Just wanted tell you about the great service that we received from Samantha Hillsman at your dealership. A little history,my wife and I and our 5 kids,are full time missionaries with a group called Team Xtreme, we performed at your dealership a few years back. Anyway since we are missionaries, and we do not have a "real" job lol, money is very tight. I have always wanted a Harley,but due to the finances I have not made a purchase because Diapers and food come first. My wife wanted to bless me with a small token and wanted to know if I wanted a HD mouse pad for our anniversary, so of course i said yes. Our anniversary was on the 18th of October and we were going to come into the dealership on the 16th but my wife went into labor!!!! She gave birth to our Youngest Miriam, so a week later on October the 23rd I brought my middle three kids in to the dealership to find our mousepad, and that is when we met Samantha Hillsman, and she made us all feel really welcome. Bringing three young kids to a HD dealership is pretty brave!!! I was looking at some of the T shirts and my oldest son said that he needed to go to the bathroom and I asked Samantha where the bathroom was and then she offered to show him where the bathroom so i did not have to take the other two kids with me as well. We were there for a little over an hour just lookin around and when Samantha was not assisting other customers she was talking to my kids and myself making us feel even more comfortable. When it was all said and done We had spent a whopping $17.00 but she made us feel like we were your best customer and had just spent 20-30 thousand dollars even though we had not. That little shopping trip blessed us so much and my kids and I had a great time and they each got a little goodie bag as well with a sticker, pen and key chain!!!! My family and I want to thank you Samantha Hillsman, for making our little shopping trip fun, productive and enjoyable. Gail if and when I am able to buy a Harley I am goin come to you for the only reason that I am sure that if I get treated with that much respect for spending $17.00 I know how I am am going to be treated when I make the big investment of a HARLEY in the future.
