Driving the 2017 Road King is Harley-Davidson's all-new Milwaukee Eight 107 engine, equipped with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), and 111 foot-pounds of torque, available at just 3,250 rpm. The new motor's high contrast between its black base and machined and polished cooling fins -- not to mention all of the chrome surrounding it -- makes the Milwaukee Eight 107 a rolling work of art. With Harley's trusty Cruise Drive transmission, you get 6 speeds to choose from, and a belt final drive that is nearly maintenance free. Together, the all-new engine and smooth and efficient Cruise Drive transmission help the 2017 Road King achieve up to 45 miles per gallon in combined city/highway driving. And with a fuel capacity of six gallons, you can cruise far down the open road in your new touring bike before having to pull over again to refuel. Feel the raw yet refined power of Harley's all-new Milwaukee Eight 107 engine on the 2017 Road King.
When building the 2017 Road King, Harley-Davidson did plenty of research on what riders have always loved about touring bikes, dating back decades. In keeping with the classic lines of a Harley touring bike, the new Road King shows off its proud heritage, while also adding modern features that will make any ride more comfortable and enjoyable. Up front, the Road King gets a large fork-mounted windshield, designed to buffet your helmet less; it can be removed quickly when you want to feel more wind, too. The hard saddlebags are roomy, and are at times hardly noticeable, as they blend into the overall design of the bike so well. The highly sculpted seat keeps you low and secure atop this powerful machine. You can have your Road King equipped with a passenger back rest, or even a bigger seat, as there are a multitude of genuine Harley-Davidson parts and accessories available for this bike.
The Milwaukee Eight 107 engine is just one of the many all-new features for the 2017 Road King. The all-new front and rear suspension system was re-engineered for more comfort, control, and confidence. With the new rear shocks, riders will get 15 to 30 percent more pre-load, and are adjustable with a simple turn of a knob. Up front, the new fork technology greatly improves ride quality, especially over those large bumps. The standard air-adjustable suspension gives you the ability to dial in your ride for single rides, two-up riding, and many other riding situations. A Reflex Linked Brembo Brake System with ABS is optional on the new Road King and provides ideal brake pressure to each wheel, no matter the road conditions. Of course, the ABS means you can stop worrying about locking up the front wheel or a rear wheel skid.
Even with all of the 2017 Road King's modern technology and features, this touring bike still has the classic, Harley style. From its striking all-new Milwaukee Eight 107 engine and vintage-look Hiawatha headlamp, to its classic 6-gallon fuel tank, retro-inspired tank badges, and tank-mounted gauges, the new Road King looks like a classic bike that has been subtly updated for modern times. High-quality paint is a standard feature of any Harley bike, and the new Road King is offered in six striking colors for 2017. Take your pick of the following paint colors for your Harley-Davidson Road King:
